Located in the center of Liaoning Province, Liaoyang is an important node city in the Shenyang Economic Zone, with a history of more than 2,300 years, one of the earliest cities in Northeast China, and known as "the first city in Northeast China". Historically, it was the seat of Liaodong County of Yan, the capital of Liao and Jin Dynasties, and the seat of Tokyo City in the early Qing Dynasty, with deep cultural heritage, such as Liaoyang White Pagoda and Tokyo Mausoleum, which are national cultural heritage units. As one of the birthplaces of the Manchu people, Liaoyang has integrated the cultural characteristics of the Han, Manchu, Mongolian and other ethnic groups. Nowadays, Liaoyang has equipment manufacturing, fine chemicals and new materials as its leading industries, while relying on the ecological resources of the Taizi River and historical monuments to develop cultural and tourism industries, making it a livable city with both historical flavor and modern vitality.
