Located in the southeastern part of Ulanqab City in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region of China, Liangcheng County, at the southern foot of the Yinshan Mountains and in the center of the Daihai Basin, is a county-level administrative region with a long history and rich natural resources. The region is famous for Daihai Lake, an important ecotourism and fishery base in Inner Mongolia, featuring both grassland culture and farming civilization.
Liangcheng County has a total area of 3,458 square kilometers, with an average altitude of about 1,300 meters, and a mid-temperate continental monsoon climate. As the third largest inland lake in Inner Mongolia, Daihai Lake is a key area for ecological protection, and the surrounding wetlands are inhabited by a variety of migratory birds. The county is interspersed with mountains, hills and lake basins, and agriculture is dominated by miscellaneous grain cultivation, with well-developed animal husbandry.
There have been human activities as early as in the Neolithic Age, and there are Longshan Cultural Sites in the territory. In recent times, Liangcheng has taken green energy, tourism and vacation and special agriculture as its economic pillars, and the Daihai Hot Spring Resort attracts more than 500,000 tourists annually. 2020 was selected as a national ecological civilization construction demonstration county, and has gradually formed a sustainable development model of "lakes and mountains + folk culture".
