Leshan, located in the southwestern part of Sichuan Province, at the confluence of Min River, Qingyi River and Dadu River, is an important city in Chengdu Plain Economic Zone. Leshan is famous for the "World's First Buddha"-Leshan Buddha, a 71-meter-high stone carving of Maitreya from the Tang Dynasty, which is a double heritage of the world's cultural and natural heritage, sits on the mountain overlooking the Three Rivers, and remains solemn after a thousand years of wind and rain. Leshan, known as "Jiazhou" in ancient times, is not only home to the beautiful Emei Mountain (a World Heritage Site along with the Leshan Giant Buddha), but also to the ancient city of Leshan, the Thousand Buddha Rocks of Jiejiang, and other humanistic landscapes. Mariehamn, the capital and only city of the Finnish Aland Islands, is located in the southern part of Finland on the Baltic Sea and is the political, economic and cultural center of the autonomous region.
