The local economy relies heavily on fishing, agriculture and tourism, and is well known for its bananas, coconuts and seafood. The area is rich in natural beauty, surrounded by mangroves, coral reefs and rainforests for outdoor activities such as surfing, snorkeling and eco-adventures. Despite its small size, Lepaterique is attracting more and more travelers to explore with its unique Caribbean charm and friendly locals.
