Lankaran is a historic city in southeastern Azerbaijan, located on the coast of the Caspian Sea near the Iranian border. As the capital of the Lankaran district, the city is known for its mild subtropical climate, rich natural landscape and cultural heritage. The Lenkoran region produces tea, citrus and pomegranates and is an important agricultural center in Azerbaijan.
Lenkoran is surrounded by unique wetland and forest ecosystems, including the Hirkan National Park, which protects ancient Caspian broadleaf forests and rare flora and fauna. The city is home to a number of historical buildings, such as the Lenkoran Castle and the 18th-century Khan's House, reflecting its past as the capital of the Taresh Khanate. The local cuisine is characterized by fish dishes and spiced teas, which attract tourists to experience.
Lenkoran's economy is based on agriculture, fishing and tourism, and it has an important port in Azerbaijan. The city's proximity to the border facilitates trade with Iran. Spa resources and Ri beaches make it a leisure and vacation destination, and the mild climate in winter makes it suitable for exploring history, culture and nature.
São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
