Réunion Island is a French overseas department located in the southwestern part of the Indian Ocean, about 800 kilometers from Madagascar and 200 kilometers from Mauritius. This volcanic island is famous for its magnificent natural beauty and is home to the World Heritage Site of "La Réunion", which includes snow-capped mountains rising to an altitude of 3,069 meters, deep canyons and active volcanic landscapes. The island's tropical climate, with an average year-round temperature of 25°C, makes it a popular destination for hiking, diving and bird-watching, with the "Ice Dipper" cliffs and the "Waterfalls Route" a must-see for visitors.
As a French overseas department, Réunion blends French romance with African and Indian Ocean cultures, with local cuisine featuring seafood and spices, and a vibrant Creole music and dance scene. Although an Indian Ocean island along with the Seychelles, Réunion stands out for its pristine volcanic landscapes and outdoor adventure resources, making it an ideal destination for nature and adventure seekers.
São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
