La Possession is an important coastal city in the western part of the French overseas department of Réunion, located in the Mascarene Islands in the Indian Ocean, close to the capital city of St. Denis, and is known as the "Gateway to the West" of Réunion. This port city of about 30,000 people is known for its magnificent natural beauty and multiculturalism, with a rugged coastline, blue waters and lush mountains. Its iconic attractions include the "Devil's Icicle" rock formation (La Roche Écrite) and the black sand beach (Plage de la Possession), which is a popular destination for hiking, surfing and whale watching. As one of the gateways to Réunion National Park, La Possession is a perfect blend of French urbanism and Creole tradition, with its colonial architecture and tropical island vibrancy, making it the ideal starting point for exploring Réunion's nature and culture.
São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
