Kwajalein Atoll, part of the Republic of the Marshall Islands, is located in the Central Pacific Ocean and consists of approximately 90 small islands and coral reefs, making it one of the largest coral atolls in the world, with a total land area of less than 16 square kilometers, but a lagoon area of 2,950 square kilometers. The strategic location of the atoll is important, is the United States Missile Test Site (Reagan Missile Test Center) location, the United States military stationed for a long time. The atoll is sparsely populated, with the main inhabitants concentrated on the island of Ebeye, where they make their living from fishing and a small amount of tourism. It has a unique marine ecosystem and is a potential area for diving and the study of marine life, but is also threatened by climate change and sea level rise.
São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
