Located in the northeastern part of Liaoning Province, China, under the jurisdiction of Tieling City, Kaiyuan is situated at the junction of the Songliao Plain and the remnants of the Changbai Mountains. As an important county-level city in northern Liaoning, Kaiyuan has a long history and is one of the birthplaces of Manchu culture, with the military town of "Sanwanwei" established in the Ming Dynasty.
