Located in Northeast Arkansas, the capital of Clay County is an important economic, cultural and educational center for the region. Incorporated in 1859, the city was once an important cotton trading hub in the American South due to its proximity to the Black River and the rise of its agricultural resources. Today, the city is centered on Arkansas State University, the region's top institution of higher learning, which infuses the area with youthful energy and academic resources. Economically, the city's mainstays are agriculture (soybeans, cotton), manufacturing and healthcare services, and in recent years it has been attracting technology companies. Culturally, the Delta Fair, an annual event that combines agricultural displays and local music, has become a local landmark. As the gateway to Northeast Arkansas, Jonesboro is a great place to live and work, combining history with modern potential.
São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
