Mirror Iron is an administrative district under the jurisdiction of Jiayuguan City in Gansu Province, China, located in the western part of the Hexi Corridor and the northern foothills of the Qilian Mountains. The area is named for the rich mirror iron ore resources within its territory, and is one of the important iron and steel industrial bases in Northwest China. Mirror Iron District relies on the Jiuquan Iron and Steel Company to develop the formation of industrial towns, both mining and production and processing functions.
Geographically close to Jiayuguan Pass, it has a temperate continental arid climate with a large temperature difference between day and night. The history of mining and the modern industrial facilities in the area form a unique landscape. As a node on the Silk Road Economic Belt, Mirror Tie has a strategic position in the industrial layout of Northwest China, while connecting cultural and tourist cities such as Dunhuang and Jiuquan.
The area has a well-developed infrastructure, transportation network covering railroad and highway arteries, and a resident population of mainly industrial workers and their families, forming a community ecology with typical industrial and mining characteristics.
Ruby is a small incorporated town in Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana, United States, located about 60 miles northeast of the state capital of Baton Rouge and adjacent to the Mississippi border, and characterized by a quiet rural atmosphere and a deep community culture. Sparsely populated, with fewer than 500 people according to the most recent census, the town dates back to the late 1800s and, with its early rise to an agricultural economy (e.g., cotton and soybean farming), still retains the rustic look of a traditional Southern town. The town's landmarks include a century-old community church and several Victorian-style homes, and the annual fall "Ruby Family Day," which blends elements of local Cajun and Creole culture, has become a shared memory for the surrounding residents. Despite its small size, Ruby epitomizes the serenity of the American countryside with its simple folk and distinctive Louisiana southern flavor.
