Introduction to Jingtai, Gansu, China

Jingtai County is located in the central part of Gansu Province in China, belonging to the city of Baiyin. It is situated in the transition zone between the Loess Plateau and the Tengger Desert, and is famous for the "Yellow River Stone Forest" and the Jingtai Chuan Electricity Irrigation Project. With a total area of about 5,483 square kilometers and a population of about 240,000, the area has a temperate continental climate, with little rain and a large temperature difference between day and night. History can be traced back to the Han Dynasty, an important node of the Silk Road, the Ming Dynasty built "Jingtai City" named. The economy is mainly based on agriculture, producing wolfberry, honeydew melon, mutton and other specialties, industry to energy and building materials as the pillar. The transportation is convenient, with G2012 Dingwu Highway and Baolan Railway passing through the city.
