Jimunai County is located in the southwestern part of Altay Region of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of China, at the southern foothills of Altay Mountains and the northern edge of Junggar Basin, bordering with Kazakhstan, with a length of about 141 kilometers, and it is an important station of the Northern Road of the ancient Silk Road and the border port county of the current "One Belt, One Road" Initiative. It has a temperate continental climate, cool and pleasant in summer, and a variety of landscapes such as grassland, Gobi and snow-capped mountains, making it a unique window to experience the flavor of the northern border. The economy is dominated by animal husbandry, specialty agriculture and border trade. As a national Class I land port, Jimunai Port is an important trade route between China and Kazakhstan, promoting regional economic and cultural exchanges. The county is inhabited by Han, Kazakh, Hui and other ethnic groups, rich folk culture, herdsmen felt, grizzly sheep, girls chasing and other ethnic customs unique charm, is the ideal place to feel the diversity of culture in Xinjiang.
