Jiexi County is located in the eastern part of Guangdong Province, China, under Jieyang City, and is situated at the junction of the Chaoshan Plain and the mountainous area. With a total area of about 1,352 square kilometers and a population of about one million, the county is dominated by Hakka and Chaoshan people, creating a unique blend of cultures. Jiexi is one of the important birthplaces of Chaoshan culture, while retaining a strong Hakka tradition, with Hakka and Chaoshan languages predominating.
