Jiexi County is located in the eastern part of Guangdong Province, China, under Jieyang City, and is situated at the junction of the Chaoshan Plain and the mountainous area. With a total area of about 1,352 square kilometers and a population of about one million, the county is dominated by Hakka and Chaoshan people, creating a unique blend of cultures. Jiexi is one of the important birthplaces of Chaoshan culture, while retaining a strong Hakka tradition, with Hakka and Chaoshan languages predominating.
With ecotourism and agriculture as its economic pillars, the county is rich in natural resources, such as the Dabeishan Forest Park and the Huangmandu Waterfalls, and is known as the "Ecological Barrier of Guangdong". Jiexi is also famous for its agricultural products such as tea, lychee and olives, and its industries are mainly textile and food processing. Culturally, it has preserved Hakka dragon houses, Teochew Opera and traditional festivals, and historical relics including the Temple of the King of Sanshan, etc. It is a popular destination for eco-tourism in the eastern part of Guangdong, as it is conveniently connected to the Pearl River Delta (PRD) region by highways and railroads.
São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
