Jiaohe City is a county-level city under the administration of Jilin City, Jilin Province, located in the eastern part of Jilin Province, at the western foot of Changbai Mountain and on the shore of Songhua Lake. It has a total area of 6,235 square kilometers and a population of about 400,000 people. It is located in the core of the Northeast Asian Economic Circle and is an important node city of the Changjitu Development and Opening Pilot Zone.
Jiaohe is known as the "City of Red Leaves" and has the largest red leaf valley in Asia, Jiaohe Red Leaf Valley, which attracts hundreds of thousands of tourists to its annual red leaf tourism festival in the fall. Lafashan National Forest Park is famous for its granite peaks, known as the "Nine Iron Fork Mountains".
