Jianning is located in the northwestern part of Sanming City, Fujian Province, China, in the middle of Wuyi Mountain Range, which is the birthplace of the main source of Minjiang River. As an old revolutionary county, it has rich red cultural resources and ecological tourism resources. Jianning is known for its abundant production of Jianlian, known as the "Hometown of Jianlian in China", and is also a nationally important hybrid rice seed production base and a key county in the pear industry.
