São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
Located in the southern part of Hualien County, Taiwan Province of China, Zhuo Xi is a mountainous township with a predominantly Bunun aboriginal population. The area is bordered by the Coastal Range to the east and the Central Range to the west, and has a beautiful natural environment with rich ecological resources and unique aboriginal culture. With a total area of about 1,021 square kilometers and a population of about 6,000, Zhuo Xi Township focuses on agriculture and tourism as its main industries.
Famous local attractions include the Wallamy Trail, Seven-Color Lake, and Nan'an Waterfall, which attract many hikers and nature lovers. Zhuo Xi is also famous for the traditional rituals of the Bunun ethnic group, such as the ear-beating festival, which demonstrates a deep cultural heritage. Transportation relies on the Delta 30 Yuchang Highway, which connects Hualien's Longitudinal Valley with the coastal areas.
