São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
Zhaotong, located in the northeastern part of Yunnan Province, Yunnan, Guizhou and Sichuan provinces, is an important channel from Yunnan to the Central Plains, known as the "throat of Western Sichuan, the key to the South Yunnan". This place has a long history and is the core birthplace of "Juti Culture", Juti County was set up during the Qin and Han Dynasties, and the ancient stagecoach road Doushaguan still retains historical relics such as "Bo's Hanging Coffin" and "Yuan Zi's Inscription". Zhaotong has a diversified terrain. Zhaotong has a diverse topography, with the Wumeng Mountains running through it, the steepness of the Jinshajiang River canyon and the vastness of the plateau grassland, and natural landscapes such as the Tongluo Dam National Forest Park and the Grand Canyon Hot Spring in the west, which are both beautiful and warm. With abundant products, Zhaotong apples are sweet and crispy, tianma and wujin pigs are famous both inside and outside the province, while Yi, Miao and other ethnic minorities live in the area, and torch festivals, Huashan festivals and other folklore activities are rich in flavor, which makes the area a unique destination for experiencing the diversified cultures and natural charms of northeastern Yunnan Province.
