São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
Zamora, Ecuador is an important city located in the southern part of the country in the province of Zamora Chinchipe, located in the transition zone between the eastern foothills of the Andes Mountains and the Amazon rainforest, known as the "Gateway to Ecuador". It has a warm and humid climate and is about 970 meters above sea level. Surrounded by dense rainforests, meandering rivers and waterfalls, the city is rich in biodiversity and is a popular destination for eco-tourism. The local economy is based on agriculture, producing tropical crops such as coffee, cacao and bananas, while incorporating the cultural traditions of the Shuar and other aboriginal people, who have preserved their unique handicrafts and festive customs. As a hub between the highlands and the rainforest, Zamora combines natural and ecological charm with a human dimension that attracts travelers who love adventure and cultural experiences.
