São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
Yuanjiang City, a county-level city under the administration of Yiyang City in Hunan Province, is located in the hinterland of Dongting Lake, and is famous as the "Hometown of Rice and Fish", "Hometown of Asparagus in China", and "Hometown of Chinese Poetry". It is surrounded by Chishan Island, the largest inland island in China, and the waters of Dongting Lake, with rich wetland resources and unique ecological landscape. Yuanjiang has a long history and deep cultural heritage, with a long history of Longyang culture, and has been an important trading and material distribution center in the Dongting Lake area since ancient times. Nowadays, it focuses on the development of specialty agriculture (asparagus, ramie, aquatic products) and eco-tourism, and attracts tourists from all over the world with attractions such as Dongting Lake Wetland and Polygonatum Lake Wetland Park, which show the unique charm of "Water under the sky of the dongting, good scenery of Yuanjiang".
