São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
Yongchang County, belonging to Jinchang City, Gansu Province, China, is located in the eastern part of the Hexi Corridor and the northern foothills of the Qilian Mountains, which is an important node of the ancient Silk Road. It has a long history and a rich cultural heritage, such as the ruins of the Han and Ming Great Walls and the Ancient City of Lixi, which witnessed the cultural exchanges between the East and the West. Yongchang is predominantly agricultural, producing wheat, beer barley and highland summer vegetables, while animal husbandry is well-developed. The region's magnificent natural landscape, including the Qilian Mountain grasslands and the Xidaxi River Reservoir, attracts tourists to explore its unique northwestern scenery. Yongchang is easily accessible by public transportation, with the Lianhuo Highway and Lanzhou-Xinjiang Railway running through it, facilitating travel and commerce. Overall, it is a distinctive county with a blend of history, culture and natural resources.
