São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
Yaounde is the capital city and political, economic and cultural center of Cameroon, located in the central plateau region of the country at an altitude of about 750 meters above sea level, with a pleasant climate and an average annual temperature of 24℃. As an important city in Central Africa, Yaoundé has a population of about 3 million and is one of the largest cities in Cameroon. The city is known for its administrative structures, higher education institutions (such as the University of Yaoundé I) and multiculturalism, with traditional markets coexisting with modern architecture and a vibrant trade in handicrafts and tropical fruits. Despite Douala's role as an economic port, Yaoundé has become a national hub by virtue of its political status, connecting the country's major cities and demonstrating the unique dynamism and tradition of an African city.
