São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
Located in the northeastern part of Gangwon Province, Xiangyang-gun is one of the most representative natural tourist destinations in South Korea, with the crystal-clear East Sea to the east and the majestic Seoraksan Mountain to the west. It has a long coastline, and the Yangyang Beach and Sokcho Beach attract numerous tourists with their fine sandy beaches and blue waters. Seoraksan National Park in the county is famous for its strange rocks and waterfalls and the distinct seasons, with mountain flowers in spring, red leaves in fall, and a ski resort in winter. Xiangyang is also known for its fresh seafood, with local delicacies such as live octopus and sea urchins. In addition, the county retains a traditional fishing village culture, and events such as the Xiangyang Kite Flying Festival held every year showcase the rich local flavor, making it an ideal destination for experiencing Korea's nature and culture.
