São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
Located in the northern part of Shanxi Province, China, Xinzhou is a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Shanxi Province, situated in the Fen and Hutuo River Basin, neighboring Hebei Province and Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. As an important city in northern Jin, Xinzhou has a total population of about 2.7 million and an area of about 25,000 square kilometers, with 1 district and 12 counties under its jurisdiction, and the municipal government is located in Xinfu District.
Xinzhou has a long history and is one of the birthplaces of Chinese civilization, with a history of more than 2,500 years of city building. It is home to the Buddhist holy site of Wutai Mountain, which is listed as a World Heritage Site, while Yanmen Pass, an important pass of the Great Wall, bears witness to China's ancient border military culture. Xinzhou is also known for its northern Jin folklore, rice-planting songs, paper-cutting and non-heritage noodle culture.
Xinzhou is rich in tourism resources, with Wutai Mountain attracting millions of tourists each year, and attractions such as Yanmen Pass, Luya Mountain and Wannian Ice Cave blending natural and humanistic landscapes. The economy is dominated by agriculture, coal industry and tourism, and is rich in small grains, walnuts and other specialties, making it one of China's important energy bases.
