São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
Xigang District, located in the center of Dalian, Liaoning Province, is one of the core urban areas of Dalian, situated on the southern coast of the city, bordered by Shahekou District in the north and the Yellow Sea in the south, and separated from Zhongshan District by the sea. As an important witness to Dalian's century-long urban development, Xigang District has a deep historical heritage. The Dongguan Street Historical and Cultural District preserves a large number of Russian and Japanese-style modern buildings, which tell the memory of the city's colonial period. Qingniwaqiao business circle in the area is the traditional commercial core of Dalian, with a hundred years of Tianjin Street, the New World Department Store and other commercial bodies converging, the modern service industry and the historical lineage of the intermingling of symbiosis. In addition, the city's green lungs, such as Labor Park and Olympic Plaza, are located in the area, which not only carries the leisure life of the citizens, but also highlights the charm of the city as a "livable and workable" area. As an important carrier of Dalian's financial, commercial and cultural functions, Xigang District has always been open and tolerant, inheriting the historical lineage and revitalizing modern vitality.
