São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
Xiashan District, a municipal district of Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province, China, is located on the shore of Zhanjiang Bay, and is the center of Zhanjiang City and one of its core functional areas. Situated on the shore of Zhanjiang Bay, it is one of the central and core functional areas of Zhanjiang City. With the deep-water port of Zhanjiang, Xiaoshan has been the transportation hub and trade gateway of western Guangdong since ancient times, and carries the rich history of a hundred years of commercial port. The most distinctive feature of Xiashan is its unique French-style buildings, such as the former site of the French Minister's Office in Guangzhou Bay and the former site of the French Army Command, which bear witness to the multi-cultural fusion of Zhanjiang as a modern trading port. Nowadays, Xiashan is not only an important engine of Zhanjiang's economy, gathering industries such as port logistics and high-end commerce, but also a charming urban area suitable for living and traveling, where seaside scenery and history and humanity are intertwined, attracting visitors from all directions.
