São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
Located in the southwestern part of Kaohsiung City, Taiwan, China, Xiaogang District is an important industrial and port gateway area of Kaohsiung City, neighboring Nanzi District in the north, Renwu District in the east, the Taiwan Strait in the west, and Gushan District in the south. The district has the Kaohsiung Hsiaogang International Airport, the largest aviation hub in southern Taiwan, connecting it to major cities around the world with convenient transportation. The economy is based on aviation, logistics, and heavy industry, and is located in the Kaohsiung Multi-Purpose Economic and Trade Park (KMP), which is home to a large number of technology and manufacturing companies. In addition, the long coastline of Xiaogang, with natural and cultural attractions such as the Qijin Scenic Area, combines industrial vitality with leisure appeal, making it one of the core areas for development in southern Taiwan.
