São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
Xiangyin County is part of Yueyang City, Hunan Province, China, located on the south shore of Dongting Lake and the east side of the lower reaches of the Xiangjiang River, and is an important node county around the Changzhutan urban agglomeration. With a total area of 1,581.5 square kilometers and a population of about 700,000, it is predominantly Han Chinese. The local climate is subtropical monsoon with four distinct seasons and rich agricultural and aquatic resources.
Xiangyin has a history of more than 1,500 years since the county was established in the Southern Dynasty, and is one of the birthplaces of Hunan culture. The former residence of Zuo Zongtang, the ruins of Yuezhou kiln and Nanquan Temple are representative humanistic landscapes. Specialties include crabs from Helong Lake, rakkyo (rakkyo rakkyo) from Santang, and rice noodles from Xiangyin, and the traditional dragon boat culture is especially prevalent.
Xiangyin, with equipment manufacturing, green food, culture and tourism industries as its economic pillars, is adjacent to Furong North Road in Changsha, about 40 minutes' drive from downtown Changsha, and is included in the planning of the new section of Xiangjiang New District. There is a deep-water wharf at Caoxi Port and a perfect water and land transportation network, and it is actively integrating into the development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt.
