Overview of Sao Tome and Principe (note on "Java")

São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.

Introduction to Xiajiang, Jiangxi, China

Xiajiang, a county under the jurisdiction of Ji'an City, Jiangxi Province, is located in the middle reaches of the Gan River, in the center of Jiangxi Province, on the edge of the Jitai Basin, neighboring Yongfeng and Le'an in the east, Jishui in the south, Ji'an and Xinguan in the west, and Xinyu in the north, making it an important node connecting central Gan with northern Gan. The total area of the county is about 1,287 square kilometers, with a population of about 170,000, and the county government is located in ShuiBian Town. Xiajiang has a long history. The county was founded in the fifth year of Jiahe (236) in Wu of the Three Kingdoms, initially named Bachu, but later renamed Xiajiang because of the mountains and canyons on both sides of the Gan River, and has been called the "Gateway to Central Gan". As one of the seventy-two blessed places of Taoism, the Yuzhu Mountain in its territory is characterized by beautiful scenery and rich cultural heritage. As a key project in the main stream of the Gan River, the Xiajiang Water Conservancy Hub Project, which is also a comprehensive project for flood control, power generation, navigation and irrigation, is guarding the people along the riverbanks with peace and quiet. It is also a place of rich produce, where traditional delicacies such as Xiajiang Rice Vermicelli and Sanhe Vermicelli have long been famous, and agricultural products such as oranges and tea are exported both at home and abroad, making it a place of charm that combines nature and humanities.
