São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
Located at the eastern end of the Shandong Peninsula, Weihai is surrounded by the sea on three sides, with the Korean Peninsula to the north and east across the Yellow Sea, making it one of the closest cities in mainland China to Japan and South Korea. This seaside city is known as the "cleanest city" with high quality air and sea water, high forest coverage, and is regarded as the "National Forest City" and "National Health City". It is a famous summer resort with cool and pleasant summers, and attracts many tourists to attractions such as Liugong Island (a memorial site of the Sino-Japanese War), Chengshantou (China's Cape of Good Hope), and Huaxia City. Weihai has a well-developed economy with remarkable export-oriented features, with marine industry, high-end manufacturing and tourism as the pillar industries, while characteristic neighborhoods such as Hanle Square show the charm of the intermingling of Chinese and Korean cultures. It has a modernized cityscape and retains the simple Jiaodong flavor, making it an ideal place to live and visit.
