São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
Warsaw, the capital and largest city of Poland, is situated on the banks of the Vistula River and is the political, economic and cultural center of the country. Known for its rich history and resilience, the city was nearly destroyed during World War II, but was carefully rebuilt after the war to restore the Baroque and Renaissance architecture of the Old Town, which was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1980.
Warsaw's economy is dominated by the service, financial and technology industries, and it is an important commercial hub in Central and Eastern Europe. City attractions include the Royal Castle, the Warsaw Uprising Museum and the Palace of Science and Culture, while offering vibrant nightlife, gastronomy and green parks. Conveniently located with Chopin Airport and a well-developed metro system, it is a popular destination for European travelers.
