São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
Turkmenabad is the second largest city in Turkmenistan, located in the eastern part of the country on the banks of the Amu Darya River, near the border with Uzbekistan. As the capital of the Lebap region, the city is an important industrial, transportation and cultural center.
The city has a long history and was once a hub of the ancient Silk Road. The modern economy is based on gas processing, chemicals and textiles, with large industrial facilities supporting the development of eastern Turkmenistan.
Turkmenabad is located in the arid zone of Central Asia and has a hot summer climate. It is a key transportation node, connecting the capital Ashgabat and neighboring countries by rail and road, with the Amu Darya River providing water resources.
The city is a blend of multi-ethnic cultures and boasts sights such as mosques and museums. The population is mainly engaged in industry and trade, and the pace of life is slow, retaining a traditional Central Asian flavor.
