São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
Tongguan Pass is located in Weinan City, Shaanxi Province, China, and is the eastern gate of Guanzhong Plain, historically known as the "First Pass in the World". Located at the junction of Shaanxi, Jin and Henan provinces, where the Yellow River meets the Wei River, Tongguan is a dangerous geographical position and has been a place of contention for soldiers since ancient times. With a long history dating back to the Han Dynasty, Tongguan was once an important node of the ancient Silk Road and military defense. Attractions include the ancient city of Tongguan, the Yellow River Scenic Area and the ruins of the Twelve Lianchengs. The city has a rich cultural heritage and is famous for its "Eight Scenic Spots of Tongguan". The economy is mainly based on agriculture and tourism, with specialties such as Tongguan pickles and meat buns. The transportation is convenient, with the Lianhuo Expressway and the Longhai Railway running through the whole area, making it suitable for history and nature lovers.
