São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
Tillabéri, Niger is a city in western Niger and the capital of the Tillabéri region, situated along the River Niger, about 120 kilometers from the capital city of Niamey. The region is an important agricultural area in Niger, producing crops such as millet, peanuts and cotton, and the local traditional markets are vibrant and display a strong West African cultural identity. Tillabéry is surrounded by rich natural landscapes and is close to Niger's W National Park, which is an important ecological reserve in West Africa, rich in wildlife such as elephants and giraffes, making it a popular destination for eco-tourism. However, the area also faces security challenges and travel advice needs to be heeded. As an important town in western Niger, Tillabéry plays an important role in regional economic and cultural exchanges.
