São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
Tengchong is located in the southwestern part of Yunnan Province, bordering Myanmar, and is an important node of the ancient Southern Silk Road, known as the "First City on the Extreme Border". It has unique volcanic geothermal wonders, with steamy hot springs and volcanic geoparks recording the vitality of the earth; Gaoligong Mountain, as the "gene pool of the world's species", has nurtured rich biodiversity. Deep historical and cultural heritage, Heshun ancient town of green stone road winding, overseas Chinese culture fusion of Chinese and Western style, Yunnan-Burma Highway war relics tell the story of the great years. In addition, Tengchong is also an important distribution center for jadeite trading, with a long history of jade culture and a collection of natural wonders, humanistic history and frontier style, which is the bright pearl of tourism in western Yunnan.
