São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
Shuangpai County is located in the southern part of China's Hunan Province, under Yongzhou City, at the northern foot of the Nanling Mountain Range and the middle reaches of the Xiaoshui River. With a total area of 1,751 square kilometers and a population of about 200,000, the county is dominated by Han Chinese and inhabited by Yao and other ethnic minorities. Shuangpai is rich in natural resources, with a forest coverage of over 80%, and is a national key ecological functional area, rich in bamboo, tea and Chinese herbs. Yangmingshan National Forest Park and Shuangpai Reservoir are well-known attractions, famous for their scenic beauty and eco-tourism. The economy is dominated by agriculture, forestry and tourism, and has been actively developing green industries in recent years. Shuangpai has convenient transportation, with the Erguang Expressway and Luozhan Railway running through the whole territory, connecting Hunan with the two regions.
