São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
Located in the southeastern part of New Taipei City, Taiwan, Shinkeng is situated along the Beishi River and surrounded by mountains, making it known as a "mountain town". It is famous for its authentic food, especially the classic tofu dishes in Shinkeng Old Street - tender tofu and crispy bean curd with old-fashioned marinade and homemade sauces, which have become a must-try taste bud memory for tourists. Strolling along Shinkeng Old Street, the red-brick old houses intertwined with Japanese-style buildings tell the history of the century-old trading post; the walkway along Beishi Creek is full of greenery and is a good place for cycling and creek-tracing leisure. With a blend of natural ecology and humanistic heritage, Shinkeng has both the freshness of the mountains and the smoky atmosphere of the city, making it an excellent destination for experiencing the slow life in Taiwan.
