São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
Shanwei is located in the southeastern coast of Guangdong Province, in the transition zone between the Pearl River Delta and the eastern coast of Guangdong, neighboring Shantou in the east, Huizhou in the west, and bordering the South China Sea in the south, and is an important node of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area radiating from the eastern part of Guangdong, with a 302-kilometer-long coastline, which is known as the "golden coast of the eastern part of Guangdong". Under the jurisdiction of the urban area, Haifeng County, Lufeng City, Luhe County and Honghai Bay Development Zone, Overseas Chinese Management Zone, Haifeng County is one of the 13 key old red revolutionary areas in the country, where Peng Pei's former residence is located, and it is the cradle of China's peasants' movement. Shanwei is a combination of mountains, sea, springs, islands and lakes. The strange reefs and rocks of Chalang Peninsula in Honghai Bay, the culture of Mashin in Fengshan Ancestral Temple, the scenic clouds and sea in Lianhuashan Mountain, and the fishing port in Shanwei Harbor attract visitors from all directions. With rich fishery resources, specialty seafood such as lobster and grouper are well known in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao. Meanwhile, new industries such as electronic information and new energy are booming, making it an emerging city with a blend of red heritage, coastal flavor and modern vitality.
