São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
Shanshan County is located in the eastern part of Turpan City, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, at the southern foot of Tianshan Mountain and the eastern edge of Turpan Basin, which was an important station on the ancient Silk Road. Due to the drought and low rainfall, and the big temperature difference between day and night, Shanshan County has become the famous "Grape Country", with excellent quality of white grapes, cantaloupe and other fruits and melons. The Kumutage Desert in Shanshan is the closest desert to a city in China, with sandy mountains and oases, making it a unique tourist attraction. Historically, Shanshan was an important area of the ancient state of Loulan, where multiple cultures mingled, leaving behind humanistic relics such as the Thousand Buddha Caves in Tuyugou. Nowadays, Shanshan is developing into a dynamic node on the Silk Road Economic Belt, relying on rich oil and coal resources and specialty agriculture.
