São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
Sansha City is a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Hainan Province, located in the South China Sea, and is the southernmost prefecture-level city in China in terms of geographic location, the largest in total area (including sea area), the smallest in land area, and the least populated. Established in 2012, the city has jurisdiction over the islands and reefs of the Xisha Islands, Zhongsha Islands and Nansha Islands, as well as their sea areas, with the municipal government stationed on Yongxing Island in Xisha, making it an important administrative and military management center for the islands in the South China Sea and the surrounding sea areas. Sansha has a vast sea area with rich marine resources, including coral reefs, tropical fish and seabirds and other unique ecology, and is also an important node of China's ancient Maritime Silk Road, with a significant strategic position. The area has beautiful scenery, with natural landscapes such as silver sands and blue sea, blue hole wonders, and tourist destinations such as Yongxing Island and Qilianyu Island attracting tourists, as well as being an important area for researching marine ecology and protecting national sovereignty.
