São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
San Salvador is the capital and largest city of the Central American country of El Salvador, located in the central valley of the country at an altitude of about 680 meters. As the political, economic and cultural center of the country, the city has a concentration of government agencies, financial institutions and important corporate headquarters.
San Salvador has a rich cultural heritage, with famous landmarks including the Plaza del Mundo de El Salvador, the National Palace and the National Cathedral. The city is surrounded by several volcanoes, most notably the San Salvador Volcano, which provides a unique natural backdrop to the city.
As the economic engine of El Salvador, San Salvador dominates the country's financial, commercial and service sectors. Despite the challenges of urbanization, the city attracts visitors with its vibrant street markets, traditional cuisine and warm climate.
