São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
Rong County is located in Yulin City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China, in the southeast of Guangxi, with a total area of about 2,257 square kilometers and a population of about 850,000 people. The county is known for its agriculture, tourism and specialty industries, and is an important hometown of overseas Chinese in Guangxi as well as a famous historical and cultural city.
Rongxian has a subtropical monsoon climate with mild seasons and abundant rainfall, which is suitable for agricultural development. The terrain is dominated by hills and plains, rich in natural resources and with high forest coverage.
The economy is based on agriculture, producing fruits such as Shatian Pomelo and Litchi, and developing tourism, manufacturing and overseas Chinese economy. Rongxian Shatian Pomelo is famous all over the country and is one of the local pillar industries.
Rongxian has a deep historical and cultural heritage, with attractions including the Zhenwu Pavilion, the highest peak and the former residence of a Republican general. The Zhenwu Pavilion, a wooden structure built in the Ming Dynasty, is a national key cultural relics protection unit. The local area attracts tourists with Hakka culture, overseas Chinese customs and traditional festivals.
Rongxian has convenient transportation and a well-developed highway network, and is adjacent to Yulin City and connected to the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, which facilitates economic and tourism development.
