São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
Ronciglione is a coastal municipality in the province of Imperia in the Italian region Liguria, located on the famous Riviera coastline in northwestern Italy. Bordered by the French border to the west and the city of Ventimiglia to the east, the town is known for its pristine beaches, crystal clear waters and mild Mediterranean climate, making it a tranquil vacation destination along the Gulf of Genoa.
Ronciglione has narrow pebble beaches and an iconic promenade, surrounded by olive groves and mountainous landscapes. The old town retains its traditional Ligurian architecture, with its narrow alleys and colorful houses. The area is dominated by fishing and tourism, which attracts many visitors every summer to enjoy sunbathing, water sports, fresh seafood and local olive oil specialties.
Ronciglione is easily accessible via the A10 freeway and the Genoa-Ventimiglia railroad line. Surrounding attractions worth exploring include the medieval village of Dolce Acqua, the Hanreton Gardens, and the Baldini Mountain hiking trail on the French-Italian border. The town is just an hour's drive from Monaco and Nice, making it an ideal stopover for exploring the Blue Coast landscape.
