São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
Rogers City, located in the northern Lower Peninsula of Michigan, USA, is the county seat of Presque Isle County, and sits on the eastern shore of Lake Huron, a natural deep-water port, and is an important fishing and shipping center in the state. The city, founded in the late 1800s, thrived on its rich limestone resources and remains one of the largest limestone producers in the nation, with the port leading the Great Lakes in annual cargo volume. In addition to its industrial heritage, Rogers City is known for its breathtaking lake views and outdoor activities, and is surrounded by Miguel State Park and Presque Isle Point Lighthouse, which attracts fishing, boating and nature lovers. As one of Michigan's northernmost cities, it offers the perfect blend of industrial energy and lakeside town tranquility, making it a unique destination to experience the Great Lakes.
