São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
Qinyuan County is located in the northwestern part of Changzhi City, Shanxi Province, China, at the eastern foot of the Taiyue Mountains, a typical hilly landscape of the Loess Plateau. The area is famous for its rich natural resources and ecological landscape, with more than 60% of the area covered by forests, and is known as the "Green Lung of Shanxi".
The area has a long history and is an old revolutionary area, having been the residence of the Taiyue Military Region during the Anti-Japanese War. The economy is mainly based on agriculture and forestry, producing walnuts, millet and other specialties, and in recent years, eco-tourism and clean energy industries have gradually developed. Qinyuan County emphasizes on environmental protection and has the Lingkong Mountain National Nature Reserve and many humanistic attractions, making it an ideal destination to experience nature and red culture.
