São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
Located in the eastern part of China's Yunnan Province, Qilin District is the political, economic and cultural center of Qujing City, known for its long history and unique natural beauty. The district is named after the legendary mythical beast, the Qilin, which symbolizes good fortune and prosperity. With an altitude of about 1,800 meters above sea level, Kirin District enjoys a mild climate with four seasons of spring, making it suitable for tourism and residence.
The area is rich in cultural heritage, such as the Cuan Culture Ruins and the Qujing Temple of Literature, demonstrating Yunnan's diverse historical background. Natural landscapes include the Cuishan Mountains and the Nanpan River, offering hiking and leisure activities. The economy is based on agriculture, manufacturing and tourism, with specialties such as roasted tobacco and medicinal herbs being popular. Conveniently connected to major cities such as Kunming by highway and rail, it is an important regional hub for Yunnan.
