São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
Located on the western shore of Puget Sound in the U.S. state of Washington, nestled in Jefferson County, Potlatch State Park is a state park known for its pristine forests, coastal bluffs, and serene bay views. The park encompasses approximately 65 acres of lush Douglas fir, cedar, and maple forests with winding wooded trails overlooking the deep waters of Hoods Canal and the silhouette of the Olympic Mountains in the distance. Great for hiking, camping, picnicking and kayaking, you can watch wildflowers bloom in the spring, the forests come alive in the fall, and you'll have a chance to see migratory birds and seals in the winter. With campgrounds, picnic areas and observation decks, the park is an ideal destination to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest, and is especially suited for families and photographers.
