São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
Located in the Central Bohemian region of the Czech Republic, about 50 kilometers from the capital Prague, Poděbrady is a charming town known for its spas and rich history. It is best known for its natural mineral springs, which were discovered in the 13th century, and today the 19th-century spa promenade and modern spa center remain, attracting visitors looking for relaxation. The town's landmark Zámek Poděbrady (Poděbrady Castle), built in the 14th century, is now a museum showcasing local history and artifacts. The Old Square (Masarykovo náměstí) in the center of the town has a medieval atmosphere surrounded by colorful houses and the St. Bartholomew's Church. Every summer, a spa festival is held here, combining traditional music and local cuisine to give visitors a deeper experience of the unique Czech spa culture. Whether strolling along the river or soaking in the hot springs, Podřážice is a must-see destination in the center of the Czech Republic for its serenity and healing power.
