Overview of Sao Tome and Principe (note on "Java")

São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.

Newport, Delaware, USA

Newport is located in the northern part of the U.S. state of Delaware, part of New Castle County, about eight miles east of Wilmington, adjacent to the Christina River, and part of the Philadelphia metropolitan area. Founded in the 18th century, the city's early economy was based on agriculture and crafts, and then industrialized in the 19th century with the development of the railroad, and now has manufacturing, retail, and community services as its core industries. With a population of approximately 18,000, the city is a small but vibrant city with several community parks, locally owned stores, and annual community events (such as summer concerts and holiday parades), making it a representative of Delaware's livable cities and towns. Its proximity to major metropolitan areas such as Philadelphia and New York, along with its convenient transportation network, has also attracted some commuters to settle in the area.
